Most people visiting Niseko would note that the quality of the snow is
second to none. The experience is made all the more enjoyable however by
the easily accessible off piste terrain, managed via Niseko`s Gate System,
the only one of its kind in Japan.
The `gates` provide access to some amazing backcountry riding and open
when conditions are deemed low risk. Of course, be sure to read all the
warnings before you go though! |
| The best and safest way to explore Niseko`s famous Off Piste terrain is
with an experienced guide. Ski guides are Niseko lodge locals with a very
good knowledge of the mountain, snow conditions and safety precautions.
Because of the inherent danger in Off Piste skiing we would recommend using
a guide when venturing beyond the resort gates. In addition to being a
safer experience, it ensures that you find the best powder spots! |
